Empowering the Girl Child: A Commitment to STEM and Beyond

We believe in the incredible potential of the Girl Child at Premiere Academy. Today, on the International Day of the Girl Child, we stand united in our mission to champion their rights, nurture their leadership abilities and safeguard their well-being.

This year's theme, "Invest in Girls' Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being," resonates deeply with our core values.

The event was graced by the presence of Ms Onyekachi Ogba
Program Manager 'Give Girls a Chance,' an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for girls in various spheres. Her enlightening talk emphasized the limitless possibilities available to the Girl Child.

Empowering through STEM

In our ever-evolving world, it's imperative that the Girl Child has equal access to fields that have historically been dominated by their male counterparts, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). At Premiere Academy, we've been consistent in breaking down these barriers. As our girls have proven to be shining lights that have produced outstanding results in external exams above their male counterparts time and again.

We provide a nurturing environment where the Girl Child not only excels in STEM but thrives, gaining invaluable skills that prepare them for a future filled with opportunities.

Renewing Our Commitment

On this special day, we reiterate our dedication to empowering the Girl Child. We firmly believe that by offering the right opportunities, support and encouragement, we can help them overcome any obstacle and reach their fullest potential.

Lessons for Life

From Ms Onyekachi Ogba's talk, our students took away critical lessons. They learned that their gender should never limit their ambitions. They were inspired to break boundaries, challenge stereotypes and strive for excellence in any field they choose.

As an added opportunity, we encouraged our students to participate in the 'Give Girls a Chance' essay competition. The theme, "If You Were Nigeria Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, How Would You Address the Digital Gender Gap? And What Should the Government Do to Create Equal Access to Technology for Girls,?" speaks directly to the challenges faced by girls in the digital sector.

Participating in this competition not only hones their critical thinking and writing skills but also offers a chance to contribute to a cause that directly impacts them and their peers.

We invest in a brighter, more equitable future for all by investing in the Girl Child at Premiere Academy. We're proud to be part of this transformative journey. Together, let's continue to champion their rights, celebrate their achievements, and nurture their potential to the fullest.
