Isa Salmanu heads on to Harvard University from Premiere Academy after an outstanding performance in 2023 Jamb/WAEC

At just 18years old, Isa Musa Salmanu has achieved what many can only dream of – getting admitted into the prestigious Harvard University to study Computer Science.

Isa's story is an attestation to the power of determination, support, and quality education—a journey that began in Kaduna state and was significantly shaped at Premiere Academy.

Born in Kaduna to Wing Commander Musa Salmanu (Rtd) and Hadiza Mohammed, Isa's passion for learning was evident from an early age. He began his education at NAFOWA Little Angels School and later moved to DEPOWA Primary School in Abuja, where he completed his primary education in 2016. Isa's academic prowess shone brightly when he was considered for the Macmillan International Academy in Alabama, USA, where he was recognized as an outstanding student in the Honourary Society.

A Scholarship to Premiere Academy

Isa's academic journey took a significant turn when he sat for the National Common Entrance Examination and emerged among the top 10 in Kaduna State. This achievement led to a scholarship from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Shell Nigeria Petroleum Company (NNPC/SNEPCO Cradle to Career Scholarships), allowing him to study at Premiere Academy in Lugbe, Abuja.
At Premiere Academy, Isa continued to excel. He emerged as the best-graduating student of the 2023 set, earning numerous academic awards and the prestigious title of valedictorian. His academic record includes an impressive score of 347 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and 9 distinctions in the West African Examination Council Senior Secondary School Examinations.

## The Path to Harvard

Isa's stellar performance at Premiere Academy did not go unnoticed. He received a merit-based scholarship to study Computer Science at Nile University, Abuja. However, his ambitions reached beyond Nigeria. He self-studied for the SAT, scoring an impressive 1520, which paved the way for his admission to Harvard University.
"I was extremely excited when I opened the letter and saw I had been accepted. I didn’t sleep that night because of how excited I was," Isa recalls. His dedication and hard work, supported by his family, paid off in the most rewarding way.
## Future Plans and Giving Back
Isa's plans at Harvard extend beyond studies. He aims to deepen his interest in technology and its applications for developing communities. "I plan on majoring in computer science with a possible minor in economics. I hope to use the knowledge and skills I gain to give back to Nigeria by developing technologies that cater for the needs of rural communities," he shares.

The Role of Premiere Academy

Isa's journey emphasized the transformative power of a supportive and challenging educational environment. Premiere Academy provided the foundation for his academic excellence and prepared him for the global stage. The school's commitment to nurturing talent, providing quality education, and fostering a supportive community has been instrumental in Isa's success.
Isa Musa Salmanu's story is one of inspirations and an indication of the exceptional opportunities provided by Premiere Academy. His journey from Kaduna to Harvard is a reminder that with the right support and education, dreams can indeed become reality.
