On the 7th of February 2020, Premiere Academy, through the Language Department hosted a drama competition captioned PADCOM which had Capital Science, Kuje, Abuja in attendance. The theme of the event was “Mirroring Lives”. The featured drama was the ever popular story by Prof. Wole Soyinka, “The Lion and the Jewel”, with the students playing the roles of the characters in the play.
Premiere Academy acted the play in professional style as they attracted cheers from the audience who gazed in amazement. Shortly after, the students from Capital Science acted the same play and a comparative analyses was done by the judges to determine the overall winner.
The judges chose Premiere Academy as the winners with Uwanan Umoh, an SS2 student of Premiere Academy as the best actor and a student of Capital Science as the best actress of the competition. The Panel of Judges were from the centre for Arts and Culture, an Abuja based theatre group; The Krump. The Principal and the Head of Learning were on hand to give out the trophies.
